NEW INSTALLATION - ENGLISH MARTYRS' RC CHURCH, BIRMINGHAM

We were recently commissioned to install new lighting, sound and security camera systems in the English Martyrs' Church in Birmingham. The job involved specifying and sourcing all equipment, installing new power and control cabling throughout and working to a tight schedule in-between the church services and other activities.
 
LIGHTING


The lighting installation was to illuminate the body of the Church and provide a flexible and fully controllable system including 30 x 300 watt halogen floods finished in white, a pair of Paradime 6-channel installation dimmers and two remote push-button control panels.

SOUND


The brief for the sound installation was that it should provide vocal reinforcement with the added ability to play music from CDs and cassettes.

The equipment included Shure SCM810E Auto microphone and Soundcraft Notepad mixers, a QSC PLX1602 amplifier with Phonic feedback destroyer driving 4 x JBL Control 28 speakers mounted in the church.

A mixture of Shure and AKG microphones were used on the Pulpit and for the choir whilst a Denon DNT-625 combined CD & Cassette player provided the music playback ability.

SECURITY CAMERAS

The security camera installation included an externally mounted Samsung Smart Dome day / night camera and internally mounted Computar Mono Dome cameras to monitor the body of the church.

All cameras are controlled by a Samsung camera controller which can display up to four images simultaneously on the remote monitor.

Completing the installation was a 120 Gigabyte digital DVD recorder.
